With the discovery of fire the history of man changed forever. From that moment we transformed our sources of light to defeat darkness. And today we present Night Evolution, a manufacturer specialised in tactical flashlights which will help us come out victorious in any night combat scenario or in low light situations.

The catalogue includes a wide arrange of all kinds of flashlight models, making it easier to find the flashlight we need on each occasion: to read a map, to illuminate a corridor or to move along a path in the middle of the night. So, we will take care of explaining the strengths of each of them and you decide which is the best for you, deal?

HELMET LIGHT SET GEN 3

NE 05003-DE

Features ///

This model replicates the SureFire HL1-A, and like the original one, features: three white LED lights, which are perfect for short-range navigation light purposes; two red LEDs to check documents without giving away your position or signalling in the darkness that you are eliminated; in addition to the flashing infra-red LED to identify your colleagues with their night vision devices, called IFF (Identify Friend or Foe).

This model works with a CR123A battery, which, according to its manufacturer, can provide up to 150 hours of use. It has two levers whose position marks each light mode which allows, in terms of visible light, to choose between three light intensity levels. It also has memory, which means that if when you turn it off, the power is set at the lowest level, it will continue at the same level when you turn it on again.

This is a flashlight that we have seen in many MICH type helmets, clinging to the ear protection and which, thanks to its rotating1 base, you can carry in the side that suits you best. Nevertheless, it also has a base to attach it to a MOLLE2, so you can carry it on the vest to check any documents you may need. This hook also has two magnets so you can attach it to a car door or any other metal surface.

CHARGE MPLS

NE 05006-BK/DE

Features ///

It is based on the Princeton Tec model of the same name, and also offers a powerful white light so that you can move around, a low intensity red and green light, and an IR light which is only visible with night vision devices. And to find out whether you have forgotten to turn it off or not, you can also use your phone camera, which will detect if the infrared LED is on or off.

This is another one of those models  that we have seen mainly mounted on helmets, remember "Zero Dark Thirty"? This is why it has an Ops Core3 type rail mount and another for MICH2 type helmets which are easy to install. If the flashlight interferes with your headset, you can turn it by unscrewing it from the base to turn it around and avoid the problem.

Although you can also use it with its MOLLE1 base which is hooked to your vest to allow you to read maps or documents in the dark. Something which, thanks to its flexible tube, makes it more manageable than other models. And the best part is that it operates thanks to a single AA battery, like the real model (old school batteries!). Much easier to find and cheaper than CR123A.

MPLS2

NE 05009-BK

Features ///

This flashlight is also inspired by Princeton's MPLS Switch. It is the same concept as the charge but lighter and more versatile. It has a very simple and effective anchorage system to the interchangeable bases. And they are available for RIS2, MOLLE3, and MICH4 and Ops Core1 helmets. So you may mount the bases in different parts and use a single flashlight, which can be mounted very quickly and comfortably.

The operation is simple. It has a single button. When pressed once, the dim red light comes on, when pressed twice quickly it will go to solid red light and if you hold it down for a couple of seconds, the IR light will turn on. Turning it off is also very simple: simply press again.

It works with two button batteries that are included and that must be mounted one on top of the other. Be careful because it closes by pressure and it could fall off if you carry the flashlight out of its bases and you may lose the batteries. Otherwise, it is a light and economical option that works very well.

MPLS3

NE 05015-BK

Features ///

If you liked the MPLS2, you will like the MPLS3 even more. It is a mixture between Charge due to its triple head and the Switch due to its format. If you know the brand Princeton, in the NE catalogue you will also find the Point model (NE05012) with the same operation as these two but without the IR function.

The operation is identical to the MPLS2: press once for dim light, press twice quickly for solid light, hold it down for red light, press again and it turns off, press for two seconds for the IR light. From NE they tell us that although the batteries included have a theoretical duration of 12 months, if you are not going to use the flashlight for more than two months in a row, you’d better take them out.

This model can be found in three external colours: black, dark earth and foliage green. And you can also choose the colour of the LED between red, green and white. In addition, like the previous one, it comes with four types of hooks to carry it: for MOLLE3, for RIS2, for Ops Core helmets1 and for MICH4 type helmets. So it has full versatility.

X300 ULTIMATE

NE 01008-BK

Features ///

Here is yet another model based on Surefire’s catalogue, specifically on the X300 Ultra model (the X300U-A version, not the X300U-B which has a screw instead of the Rail-Lock lever system). It has two light modes (continuous light if you move the lever or one-off if you push it inwards) with ambidextrous controls; a feature left-handed players will appreciate.

This model is initially intended to be used on a hand gun, although SureFire itself also sells it as a flashlight for rifles with accessories such as the most common remote button on these models. A very interesting option in our case for replicas with a short handguard in which other models are too large.

The flashlight comes with two different thickness fins that are directly attached to the rail: the 3 mm1 for handguns and the 5 mm2  for Picatinny rails (or MIL-STD-1913 rail). In addition, it includes a fixed option in which you can change the part with the different thickness tooth without having to disassemble everything, if you are going to change the flashlight frequently from one model to another.

APL TACTICAL LIGHT

NE 01003-BK

Features ///

Inspired by the APL model (Auto Pistol Light) gen. 1 by Inforce, this flashlight is originally designed to be carried in side arms with Picatinny rail. It has ambidextrous controls: press once for continuous light, hold on for momentary light, and press twice quickly for stroboscopic light to blind the enemy while illuminating the room.

Powered by a 3 volt CR123A battery, it provides 160 lumens of blinding white light. Its performance is particularly impressive in buildings, and it will not let you down in the open field. Another detail that we liked is that we do not need to disassemble the flashlight from the gun to change the batteries as you can do this quickly just by unscrewing the head.

For storage or transport, you can choose to unscrew a head turn (¼ of a turn is enough in the original model) to prevent it from turning on accidentally and prevent the batteries from running out just when you need it. It is a kind of insurance that will help you avoid unpleasant surprises.

M300 MINI SCOUT LIGHT

NE 04001-BK/DE

Features ///

While its size may lead you to think differently, the actual SureFire model is designed as a flashlight for rifles, carbines or submachine guns. Thanks to its CNC aluminium construction and strong anodized structure, it is very resistant while minimising the weight you add to the replica. As it is so compact, it frees up space for other accessories and increases manoeuvrability (especially if you compare it with other bulkier models).

There are two options to activate it: you can use the push-button on the back - press softly for momentary light, and hold one for continuous light-; and a remote rubber button, which will only provide momentary light. The push-button comes with a 3M Velcro to fix it to the handguard or the grip, although you always have the option to resort to the typical rubber band.

The head has a high performance US CREE Q5 LED with a reflective lens system that will provide, according to the manufacturer, up to 180 lumens during one hour of continuous use. Also, thanks to the O-rings, there is a seal that allows you to carry it mounted on the replica regardless of the weather. Although if you need to disassemble it, it is as simple as loosening the head of the nut that holds it to the RIS by hand.
