Hand guns in airsoft are meant to save our asses. Either because we play in a field with such short distances that it is played only by hand gun, because it is our last resort when someone appears too close to us and we cannot use our sniper rifle, or simply because our main replica has been damaged or has ran out of ammo. In those situations, the hand gun saves the day like a superhero, and believe us, you want it to be the best it can.

That is why KJW continues to work on its more than proven KP-13F TBC, and offers a gun that will make you drool like Pavlov's dog.

Balance in weight

Since the body is made of polymer it lightens the total weight of the gun, while the slide, being metallic, makes that extra weight become mass that moves in each shot, increasing the feeling of blowback even more (unlike very popular Japanese brands that manufacture in plastic). A very interesting combination in which the only “but” we found would be that the finish of the frame that imitates a non-slip texture is merely aesthetic, and we will achieve a better result if we also add a bit of “sniper tape”.

Sights

KJ Works has two accessories (sold separately) with which you can mount an RMR or a red dot on the gun. On the one hand you can use "rail mount" made of aluminium alloy that you can mount instead of the rear sight and that will allow you to mount any sight on its RIS.

And if you do not want to do without the sights, you can mount the "pistol mount" also made of aluminium alloy, which is mounted on the lower rail and with which you gain a rail for scopes and some space below to continue using the sights. The good thing is that you can use both accessories in more gun brands, which makes the investment even more appealing.

Optical fibre

This model has a front optical-fibre sight which helps us to capture more light to highlight the line of fire and lets us aim more easily without having to focus the eyes on the sights.

Something really useful since, when shooting with a gun many times, we do it intuitively and traditional models require more time to align the aiming systems.

Firing in auto

The main distinguishing feature in this model is neither its tan colour, nor its threaded outer barrel, is the fire selector in the style of an Austrian manufacturer on the side of the slide, that will allow us to shoot in full auto.

A very interesting feature to get out of a bad situation in a game or if we use this pistol as a secondary gun for a sniper role.

Internal parts

It has a roulette hop-up, which can be adjusted very comfortably since no tools are required, with the exception that you will have to disassemble the slide to do it.

The recoil spring guide is made of plastic and has only one spring but achieves a strong blowback sensation, and although it is not hooked to the external barrel it does not come out of its place, thanks in part to the centering piece that remains inside the slide and the little o-ring in the guide.

Performance

Before playing with it, we always test them out of the box, and in this case, after loading the gas tank with Duel Code green gas and 0.20 g BBs we tested it with a stopwatch in a room at 22ºC, and it provided an average speed of 305 FPS in the first ten shots, 314 being the highest measurement and 295 the lowest.

And then we continued firing to check how many shots we could do with a gas tank, and we reached a total of 82,3 complete magazines and more than half of the fourth.

This was when we fired in semi-automatic mode, when firing in auto we were able to fire the 23 BBs of the magazine without taking the finger of the trigger, although if you fire in short bursts you can increase the autonomy of the gas up to the two magazines.

KJ Works is committed to continuing to work on its own design model, incorporating functional and performance improvements that make the gun get closer and closer to "perfection", you don’t believe us? Try it and tell us what you think.
