Pirates were unlawful bandits who spent their time looting the seas, which is why they were hunted down by the governments of the various nations involved.
But what they used to do was not always disapproved of by the monarchs of the time.
Sometimes, the monarchs would issue “letters of marque”, which were special licences that granted them permission to attack and loot the ships of an enemy country (in exchange for a share of the plunder).
Operators, mercenaries, pirates and privateers. The best professionals in one way of life, who offered their skills to the authorities for the glory of the nation. This spirit gives rise to Corso Tactical.
