Some releases go unnoticed… others live up to their name. The new GROM series from ROSSI belongs to the latter: a modern reinterpretation of the AK platform, designed for hard use without unnecessary complications. 

GROM 

GROM is not a random name. It means “thunder” in both Polish and Russian, and it is also the name of Poland’s special operations unit, one of the most respected in Europe. A clear statement of intent. 
 
The GROM MOD.1 comes in two configurations (black and black/tan) and is built around a modernized AK base: current ergonomics, wide compatibility, and a clear focus on practical performance. 

What makes it interesting 

There is no nostalgia here for the classic AK. ROSSI goes straight to what works: a Picatinny top rail for optics, a railed handguard for accessories, and an adjustable stock that brings the platform closer to modern gameplay standards. 
 
Internally, it sticks with what works. A reinforced V3 gearbox (proven, accessible, and easy to maintain) paired with an electronic trigger that improves response and protects the system. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, and it doesn’t need to. 
 
The setup stays within consistent figures: 300–350 FPS, a precision inner barrel around 6.05 mm, and adjustable hop-up. In practice: stable performance in both CQB and open field, without unexpected behavior. 

Handguard 

A very interesting handguard design made from CNC aluminum, low profile (not bulky, it feels closer to an M4 handguard), featuring M-LOK. In the tan version, they’ve matched the handguard color with the stock and pistol grip, which looks especially clean. 

A platform built to play 

The GROM MOD.1 is not about extreme specs, but balance. Hybrid materials (reinforced polymer + metal in key areas), compatibility with 7.4V and 11.1V LiPo batteries, standard 14 mm CCW thread, and improved ergonomics over traditional AKs. 
 
This is a replica that requires no adaptation: pick it up, set it to your style, and play. 

In a market full of M4 reinterpretations, the GROM brings something different, appealing, and backed by ROSSI (which means it will perform reliably).
