CYMA Modernized SVD

The Dragunov was introduced in the 1960s as the first semi-automatic rifle designed specifically for military precision shooting. Since then, the platform has evolved alongside the needs of the operators who still use it, incorporating ergonomic improvements and modern accessory systems.
Following that same philosophy, CYMA offers an updated version of the SVD that preserves the essence of the classic Dragunov while adding features that make it a far more configurable platform for airsoft: an M-LOK handguard, a full-length RIS top rail, and a telescopic stock compatible with M4-style buffer tubes.

Stock

The traditional fixed stock has been replaced by an M4-style buffer tube fitted with an adjustable Crane Stock.

This system allows you to:

• Adjust the stock length.
• Replace it with other compatible stock models.
• Store the battery inside the stock, providing more space and making installation easier than the traditional setup.

Sights

The full-length RIS top rail allows virtually any optic on the market to be installed. It also retains the Dragunov's characteristic side mounting rail, making it compatible with traditional PSO-1 optics.

Although the original iron sights are omitted, new backup sights can easily be mounted on the rail or complemented with a 45-degree offset sighting system.

Handguard

The new aluminum M-LOK handguard replaces the classic wooden and polymer versions.

Thanks to the M-LOK interface, you can easily mount:

• Flashlights.
• Lasers or AN/PEQ devices.
• Bipods.
• Other accessories without the need for additional rail sections.

Available Versions

CYMA offers one of the most comprehensive Dragunov lineups on the market, ranging from the classic wooden SVD to folding-stock SVDS variants and even bullpup configurations.

Internals

The replica features a proprietary four-gear gearbox, conceptually similar to the system developed by Real Sword.

Key internal features include:
• Metal spring guide with bearings.
• M120 spring.
• 19-tooth polymer piston with two steel teeth.
• Chrome-plated steel cylinder.
• High Torque motor.
• Steel gears running on 7 mm bushings.
• Metal rotary hop-up chamber.
• 690 mm inner barrel.
• Very consistent performance, averaging around 420 FPS.

One drawback is that the inner barrel is not a precision barrel, while the hop-up unit and several internal components are proprietary designs, limiting compatibility with aftermarket upgrade parts.

Conclusion

The classic Dragunov will always remain one of the most iconic rifles ever produced. This updated version proves that it can also meet modern demands without losing its unique identity.
CYMA successfully combines the unmistakable appearance of the SVD with the advantages of a modern, highly customizable platform, offering an excellent alternative for players looking for a DMR that stands apart from the usual AR-10 or SR-25.
