When ARES introduced the Airsoft Striker family, it achieved something unusual: creating a sniper platform that broke away from the traditional VSR and L96 designs. Following the success of the AS01 and the arrival of the AS02, the AS03 pushed the concept even further with an extremely compact design that remains one of the most original bolt-action platforms on the market. 

Rather than a conventional sniper rifle, the AS03 is best described as an ultra-compact precision platform. Measuring just 465 mm and weighing only 1.5 kg, it can be used in situations where a traditional sniper rifle would simply be too cumbersome. 

Handguard 

The AS03 comes equipped with a reinforced polymer M-LOK handguard featuring multiple accessory mounting points and a QD sling socket. 

One of the most distinctive accessories in the Striker lineup is the optional Striker S3 handguard, which integrates a flashlight directly into the handguard, creating a unique setup ideal for CQB or players looking for a more unconventional appearance. 

Design 

ARES replaced the traditional safety found on the early Airsoft Striker models with a trigger-mounted safety, while retaining the visual cocking indicator that shows when the bolt is cocked. 

Another clever feature is the storage compartment inside the pistol grip, where the Allen keys required to adjust the hop-up and disassemble the rifle are kept, eliminating the need to carry extra tools during a game. 

The direct-feed magazine system also remains one of the platform's most interesting features, allowing BBs to feed directly from the magazine into the hop-up chamber for improved feeding reliability. 

Bolt System 

One of the features that made the Airsoft Striker series so popular was its use of AEG springs instead of traditional sniper rifle springs. 

This greatly simplifies upgrades while also reducing the bolt travel thanks to the shorter spring length, allowing for noticeably faster follow-up shots. 

Built for Customization 

One of the AS03's greatest strengths is still its enormous aftermarket support. 

The platform shares many components with the AS01 and AS02, allowing users to swap:
