What do Chris Kyle, Simo Häyhä or Carlos Hathcock have in common with names such as Novritsch or Kickingmustang? Keeping the obvious differences in mind, all of them have helped shape the image of the sniper. And that same influence also reaches airsoft replicas.

ORIGIN
The CM.708 is part of a family designed around three main ideas: accuracy, ergonomics and modularity. A platform aimed at players looking for a modern sniper rifle without loading it with unnecessary elements.

BARREL

It features a 450 mm, 6.03 mm inner barrel, a suitable configuration for this type of replica. It also incorporates two internal spacers that help keep the barrel centred and reduce possible vibrations during firing.

MATERIALS

One of its strengths is its low weight. The use of a polymer chassis provides good rigidity without adding unnecessary kilos, while the design does away with rails and parts that contribute little to the rifle’s main purpose.

MUZZLE DEVICE
The muzzle device clearly resembles brake designs used on real rifles. In airsoft its function is purely aesthetic, but it gives the CM.708 a very recognisable personality.

MAGAZINE
The magazine visible beneath the bolt is dummy. The real magazine, with a capacity of 34 BBs, is hidden inside the handguard.
This arrangement provides more direct feeding towards the hop-up and eliminates intermediate systems commonly found on other rifles. One point that could be improved is that its retention could be firmer.

SCOPE RAIL
On top we find a 170 mm Picatinny rail, enough to install practically any scope. However, available space becomes somewhat limited if we also want to add cameras or other accessories.

STOCK

The skeletonised stock combines a minimalist look with plenty of adjustment options. We can adjust the cheek rest height, stock length and butt pad height.

It combines metal parts, polymer and a non-slip rubber butt pad, providing a comfortable shooting position without overcomplicating the overall design.

The CM.708 follows a logical formula for an airsoft sniper rifle: accuracy, low weight and a comfortable platform for moving around the field. A different option within CYMA’s catalogue and, above all, a rifle designed more for playing than for accumulating accessories.
