DANIEL DEFENSE
DDM4V7P
APS x FMG (Foldable Stock Version) with Edge II
This model by APS has the licences of firearms manufacturer Daniel Defense thanks to EMG. It is a replica with the markings and handguard of the DDM4V7P model (DD for Daniel Defense, M4 Version 7 and P for pistol). Details have been added to it such as the EPG Alpha pistol grip and the EMG magazine, as well as Hawk sights, foldable stock and Edge II by APS. A winning combination on any Airsoft field.

Folding stock system
This system reduces its length, which might be an advantage in CQBs or when transporting it to the gaming field. The system is compatible with TM AEGs and we will be able to use the same stocks in its tube. We like the fact that the exposed part of the wiring is covered with a kind of spring that protects it from getting trapped when the stock is activated. We are also fans of the cord that they use to replace the rifle sling ring, which is quieter and handier.

Sights
Hawks are made of polymer, so they hardly add any weight to the replica. Although the design is really compact and they don’t block our view when assembled, we can fold them up and still use the three-point aiming system of the rear sight. We will be able to adjust them once folded, although to be honest we have never done this in a replica. And we can always reposition the sights by detaching them. One detail that we like is that they don’t have an activation button and they have two “wings” on the sides to help us unfold them.

Magazine
The EMG 450 bb magazine is designed to reduce the number of magazines that you have to carry around in a game. It is made of a very strong yet lightweight polymer, weighing 155 g when empty. The bb load is visible through the port, allowing us to see when bbs are getting used up. The feed wheel at the bottom is easy to access, even though it is hidden to mark the magazines that belong to us and avoid any “confusion”.

DANIEL DEFENSE
EMG is the brand of the well-known American shop Evike, which collaborates on this project by providing the replica with licences of the renowned firearms manufacturer Daniel Defense. And not only do we see it in the name that it shares with the equivalent real model, but also in the markings and characteristic design of the MFR 9.0 M-LOK handguard. However, it does differ in other details such as the pistol grip, lower receiver, stock and muzzle.
The APS model gets the name “pistol” from the original model, as the configuration with which it is sold by Daniel Defense means that, according to United States law, it is considered a pistol and not a short-barrelled rifle. In bureaucratic terms, it is therefore easier to buy. Americans and their 5.56 pistols, right?

1. Gearbox
Version 2 Gearbox Edge II with quick change spring. M100 type spring and steel and polymer spring guide, with bearings. Steel gears, without markings, which revolve around 8mm bearings.

2. Piston
Piston with full metal teeth made of steel. Metal piston head, with tightly sealed O-ring and bearings that make it easier for the spring to twist.

3. Cylinder
Stainless steel cylinder frame with opening and extremely smooth inside area. And aluminium cylinder head with double O-ring and an oversized rubber inside.

4. Trigger
New Rapid Trigger System, mechanical trigger that makes it possible to adjust movement, meaning it feels like an electronic trigger. The IC chip of this Micro FET is imported and has undergone demanding stress tests.

CONCLUSIONS
The DD Mk18 did become hugely popular, but that was a long time ago now. This is a version which is similar in style, but introduces some novelties. New things from the original, from APS and EMG. And what do we think is the best? That although this model comes with Edge II, which is giving great results, it is also available with the APS GBB GBox system, allowing us to have a completely different experience. Replica after replica, APS is really becoming a manufacturer that we must consider both in terms of its production and the performance of its replicas.
