ICS CXP-APE SE SPECIAL EDITION
ICS launches the ICS CXP-APE SE (Special Edition) based on the CXP-APE that we showed you precisely 50 issues ago in this publication. We now see that this replica is available with a new M-Lok handguard, in black or grey, and with an FET or S3 system.
If we include this model in the “replicas with M4 magazine” category, it offers some ergonomic improvements over the conventional platforms such as the ambidextrous magnetic magazine release, forward charging handle and double fire selector.
Upper receiver
The upper receiver and handguard is a single part, and it is made of a high-quality CNC aluminium alloy with a hard anodizing process, allowing it to maintain a solid structure and better resist scratches from use, while its weight is kept low.
Folding sights
The metal sights can be folded, and even in this position they provide us with an aiming system so we can keep using them. Although we can detach the rear sight if we need to mount accessories in its place, we can’t do so with the front sight. However, it doesn’t take up space on the Picatinny rail as it folds forwards and remains almost level with it.
Single Rail
The Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913 or STANAG 2324 rail) runs along the top part of the replica continuously, in other words it is not split between the upper receiver and handguard, since it is a single part in this model, and it is therefore easier for accessories to be configured.
Magazine
The T-MAG magazine is a typical ICS design, a hi-cap with a capacity for 300 bbs which has a tactical port in order to be able to control the amount of ammunition that we have left.
Stock
This replica mounts the SF1 Quick Response Foldable Stock with six positions that are easily adjustable thanks to its oversized controls, foldable in order to reduce the total length of the model in close combat or so it can be transported, and with a check rest that can be adjusted to five heights in order to help us aim more quickly.
Straight trigger
The SSS version comes with an intelligent trigger that allows us to fire in bursts with a slight touch, or in automatic, by fully pressing it. Movement of the trigger is also reduced, which together with the cocking mechanism results in a higher rate of fire.
INNER PARTS
The replica comes in two inner part configurations, the SSS or S3, which is the one that we have, and the Mosfet version, in which some of these inner parts reinforced with Master Mods elements, standard in version S3, are optional.

Rotary hop-up unit chamber (G36 type), made of polymer. With Master Hop Tensioner Nub.
09. Electric Blow Back (EBB)
The EBB system offers a more realistic experience without sacrificing durability and performance when firing.
10. Gears
The pinion & bevel gears are made of high-quality steel using MIM (Metal Injection Molding), and these rotate on 8mm steel bushings.
11. Trigger
Electronic straight trigger.
