Throughout history, the biggest changes in armed conflicts have been the variety of scenarios in which operators had to battle in. Nowadays any city, any street, any place on the planet can be a silent witness to the silent battles Special Forces engage in.

This is why Helikon is developing a range of products that, although could pass as streetwear, actually hide a whole list of technical features to satisfy the most seasoned operators. And that are available for airsofters to wear, be it in our weekend games or in our everyday life during the rest of the week.

Helikon Possum Waist Pack

This is the little sister of Bandicoot's model, we liked it as it is compact, versatile and has a comfortable design. For a long time now we have seen elite units like the Marine Raiders wearing them, and their use in airsoft has spread as an alternative or in addition to first lines. Disassembling the strap and fitting the belt through the "buckle" that we can find in the back of the fanny pack we can add it to our first line as if it were an extra pouch. Although it will move quite a lot in this position if it is fully packed as the buckle is wider than the standard belts, the solution is to use a wide cuff.

We can wear in the front, askew or back so it doesn't get in the way and turn it only when you need to access it, just like a true Raider! In the main pocket we can carry a 1 kg BBs bag (useful for support) to 5 M4 magazines, a handgun, a first aid kit... Besides, we can also use its inside pockets to quickly find what we carry inside them.

It has a flat pocket on both the front and inside for documents, maps, radio codes... Depending on how much we are going to use it, we should place it on the outside, or on the inside for fewer uses. We can also use the front Velcro to attach "medic" patches to mark the content or just our team patch to make our kit a bit more "tacticool".

Helikon Wolfhound

      Light Insulated Jacket

This lightweight garment is designed as intermediate layer to provide more warmth when combined with another thicker coat on top, but can also be used as a separate garment, hence it's availability in Cammogrom (Polish version of Multicam).

The Climashield® Apex ™ layer will keep us dry and warm in cold environments thanks to its hydrophobic properties (not to be confused with waterproof, this one only repels water but will end up soaked under heavy rain). Although thanks to the outer nylon material the durability of the garment is increased while its breathability will prevent us from boiling in hot weather.

The garment comes with tight cuffs to prevent heat loss and we can keep our hands warm thanks to the wool finish on the inside of the pockets, nothing hurts more than getting shot on an icy finger! And if the sun comes out suddenly don't worry, you can fold the garment and compress it to fit in a cargo pocket or in an admin pouch and it will be fine. We have checked this.

Are you going on a MilSim? Do you have a night event in winter? You will need one of these, and you can thank us later.

The layer

      system

The EWCS (or Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) is a coat layer system devised by the US Army in the 80's. It has evolved to have a third generation which came into use in 2007 for troops in Afghanistan.

This system consists of a table that helps every operator to choose what clothes to wear depending on the weather conditions and the activity to be undertaken, keeping them warm and dry thanks to correct breathability.

Helikon Windrunner

    Lightweight Windshirt

This garment is totally bulkless and weightless, it is a perfect windbreak to wear both below the vest before starting a game, or above if you have already started as we can carry it as it barely takes any space.

While the nylon fabric is very light, make no mistake; it is very durable thanks to the weave of the fabric and will protect us both from wind and rain thanks to its DWR lining (Durable Water Repellent).

It is a garment that definitely pays off and that we will be able to use extensively in both airsoft games and as streetwear thanks to its discreet cut, we can even use it when working out! Indeed, the fabric around the armpits and the central pocket (which has smaller pockets inside it) offers great breathability, something which is also ideal for airsoft purposes. While the sleeves, the waist and the hood can be adjusted to control heat loss..

CONCLUSIONS

Helikon creates garments that offer many possibilities. They offer the highest performance and are very durable. These garments are the most compatible ones with our kits and can always be transported without taking up much space. And besides, we can use them in our everyday lives. Now you know what we store in our wardrobe, what about you?
