We spend a lot of money on our replicas. We dedicate time and effort customising them until they look perfect. We spend even more money on accessories. We add them, remove them, move them... until our gun is unique. So, why not customise the case where we store them or transport them until it also looks "perfect" to us? We wouldn't park our Ferrari (if we had one!) on the street, risking that the paint may get scraped or that a hailstorm may break loose. To this end, we have tried these Large Hard Cases and the truth is that they are a very interesting option.

 FULL PROTECTION

The "Nuprol Large Hard Case" or rigid suitcases by Nuprol are designed to keep our guns protected whenever we are not using them, whether during transport or when we store them at home. And this is not just because the case is shock resistant, but also because it is dust and water proof so it will remain intact no matter how many weeks we put it away in a storeroom, and even if it gets flooded!!

So you get an idea, the briefcase has an IP67 degree of protection, which according to international standard CEI 60529 is interpreted as follows:

· The first number describes the level of dust protection, in this case is 6, which means there is no way that dust will go through under any circumstances

· And the second number stands for the level of protection against water, in this case 7 means that it will prevent water filtration for 30 minutes at one meter depths.

 INTERNAL MODULARITY

The inside of the case has a cubed foam that fit together like a zipper when closed. So any object we put it the case (regardless of size or thickness) will remain safely in place during transportation as it would with a standard flat foam.

During its presentation at the IWA this year, Ross Tucker (Marketing Manager at Nuprol) told us that the next models will come with "Pick N Pluck platform", a pre-cut foam that can be "carved" to fit the shape of our gun. This way it will stay in place just like in its original box. This is something we've seen many real operators do in a much more rudimentary way. Now you can do the same but in a simpler way.

 TAKE IT WHEREVER YOU LIKE

Its easy transport features differentiate this carrying case over other systems. To begin with it is a trolley-type briefcase, and we as heavy gun players are very thankful for this! These sphere-shaped wheels1 don't free-wheel, so you will have to pull the suitcase. However, as the wheels are made of plastic instead of rubber, they are less likely to break as they are more robust either through city asphalt or the gravel of the airsoft field. Remember that sooner or later you will have to lift it, for example to place it in or out of a trunk. So it is important that it is light and that it has a side handle2 for easier lifting.

It has four latched closures3 that can be opened quickly and which can be reinforced by placing padlocks or flanges into the two holes of the central part. And just like the best professional cases, they include a pressure compensation valve4 which ejects accumulated air while preventing the entry of water molecules; the result is a watertight case which is easy to open after pressure changes.

 CONCLUSIONS

Although at first they were only available in three colours, (black, green and tan) IWA announce a forth colour: grey, the fashion colour of the moment! These same colours will also be available in an XXL version (of 135cm), that was in the design process when we spoke with them in March, for all Snipers, SVD or SR25, or support guns such as the RPK. It will feature the same characteristics as these models but will have additional closures due to its extra size.

As you have seen, there are ways to take care of all the effort you have put in creating your replica so personally. Either when transporting or storing them at home your replica will remain intact. And during a match? Well, that depends solely on you...
